Understand subscription statuses

What trialing, active, past_due, canceled, and expired mean on your account.

Your dashboard and the in-app account screen show a status badge for the current subscription. Here's what each value means.

  • trialing — you're inside a free trial. Tunnel works as if you were on Pro. The trial converts to a paid period unless you cancel before it ends.
  • active — you have a paid plan and it renews at the next billing date.
  • past_due — the store tried to charge and the payment failed. Update your payment method within the grace window (varies by store) or the subscription will drop to canceled.
  • canceled — you cancelled or a charge failed past the grace window. You keep access until the end of the period that was already paid for, then drop to free.
  • expired — you were on Lifetime that we marked expired because of a refund or violation, or you were on a trial that ended without converting. No paid access.
