Server tiers explained

Why some servers are reserved for paid plans and what the tier numbers mean.

Each server is assigned a tier from 1 to 3. The tier reflects the hardware budget, the carrier diversity, and the speed contract on that node. Higher tier = more capacity, lower congestion, faster peak speeds.

What you get by plan

  • Free — Tier 1 only. Real servers, but lower-capacity. Great to verify the app works on your network.
  • Pro Monthly — Tier 1 + Tier 2. Premium routes, more locations.
  • Pro Annual and Lifetime — All tiers, including Tier 3. The fastest nodes, typically dedicated 10 Gbps uplinks.

What happens if you try a higher-tier server

The app hides locations your plan can't reach. If you try to connect by URL or saved bookmark, the backend returns server.tier_mismatch and the app shows an upgrade prompt.
