Updates ship every couple of weeks. They include protocol improvements, new server locations, and bug fixes. We avoid forcing updates unless a security issue requires it.
iOS
App Store updates happen automatically if Background App Refresh and automatic updates are on in Settings. To update manually: App Store → Profile → scroll to find SecureFox VPN → Update.
Android
Open Google Play → Profile → Manage apps & device → Updates available → SecureFox VPN → Update.
What happens on an old version
Most server-side changes are backwards-compatible — older apps continue to work. If we ship a change that breaks an old version (rare), the app shows a banner asking you to update and the tunnel stays disconnected until you do.
